The need-to-knows about making a card

You absolutely have to know the basics before making a card. Look below to see the bullet points of making a card

  • Gluing: You don't want your card getting messed up because the glue wrinkled your pages. Get rubber cement. The the directions on the label to find out how to apply it. You need to have a well ventilated area to use in.
  • Taping: You can use double sided tape to attach other pieces of paper. If you are lining a card it is best not to use it because once you lay down the tape it will not come up.
  • Card Liners: If you have a darker card or need to cover up something on the inside of the page add a card liner. You can use decorative edged scissors to add interest to the liner.

  • Paper: If you want to do embossing or any other special effects you'll need a heavy paper called cardstock. You can make your own paper but manly this will be one of the only materials you will have to buy.
  • Beads: Adding beads to a card adds some really cool texture and adds something special to the card. Try to stick to smaller beads so they don't get in the way.
Spray Paint/Glitter spray: Using spray paint can add that extra touch  to your card. While it is still wet you can sprinkle glitter on it if you don't have glitter spray. This will make your card sparkle and shine. If you only have white cardstock you can use spray paint to color it just be sure to shake the can up so you get an even spray.
  • Pop-Up Cards: Pop-ups are the coolest thing to add to a card. They can be really easy but add a cool effect to your card. That's one thing you will defiantly want to learn.
