Christmas Card Pop out

To make this Christmas Card pop out you will need:

  • 2 sheets of white construction paper (This is not including the outside of the card)
  • A box of crayons
  • X-Acto knife
  • Cutting board
  • Double sided tape (Or glue- Rubber Cement)
  • Ruler
The strips of paper that are to be cut out go in this order: Snow flake, Snow mound, Sign post, Snow mound, Snow flake.

You can print out the paper at the bottom of the page, I flipped it so that you can cut out the lines and flip the paper over so that you can not see the ink. If you wish to have the measurements comment in the comment section below.

The Background

Color hard with blue and purple crayons the top half of the page.
  1. Blend the colors using a white crayon.
  2. Shade some areas on the bottom half lightly using a blue crayon.
  3. Because I flipped the lines  you will have to follow these measurements to color this section brown: 3 3/8 inches in is the signpost. It is 3 1/2 inches tall above the half mark and 1 1/2 inches below it. The sign post is 1/2 in. wide.

Snow Flakes

  1. Cut a circle with a diameter of 1 to 2 inches.
  2. Fold the circle in half 2 or 3 times to get a wedge
  3. Cut triangles and circles out of the edges of the wedge.
  4. Unfold and you have a snowflake.
  5. Repeat these steps to make 2 snowflakes.

Snow Mound

  1. To make the snow mounds cut a piece of the white cardstock to look like the one shown in the picture above.
  2. Shade lightly with a blue crayon.

Sign

  1. Cut a square or oval that is 3 inches tall and around 2-3 inches wide.
  2. Write a message on it such as "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas".
  3. Use a brown crayon to draw the wood grain and color the sign in lightly.
